KCWC. TERCEIRO DIA. DAY THREE

O projeto de hoje envolve reciclagem. Transformei uma camisa de rapaz numa saia para a Teresa. Mas, para ter a certeza que a saia seria um sucesso, adicionei-lhe um detalhe de “menina pirosa” (pirosa para ela é um elogio!)
Fiz uma saia simples com elástico na cintura mas juntei-lhe um saiote com bordado inglês. A saia exterior é feita de algodão grosso com um xadrez que adoro. Como aproveitei as costuras laterais e a carcela da camisa original só tive que coser a bainha inferior e o cós para o elástico. Os botões eram horríveis por isso também os troquei.
Para a saia interior usei um resto de um tecido fininho do forro de um vestido que desmanchei faz algum tempo e um pouco de bordado inglês que comprei à uns tempos.
E desta vez estive pouco mais de uma hora de volta da máquina de costura…

Today’s project involves a bit of recycling. I’ve turned a boy’s shirt into a skirt for Teresa. But, to be sure that the skirt would be a success, it added a girly detail…
I made a simple skirt with an elastic waist but jointed it a petticoat with broderie anglaise finish. The outer skirt is made of thick cotton with a lovely chess. As the side seams and placket are original, I only had to sew the bottom hem and the waistband. The buttons were horrible so I also changed them.
For the petticoat I used a bit of white cotton fabric from the lining of an old dress and a some english embroidery that I bought some time ago.
This time I did finish my project in not much more than an hour…
