KCW DAY SEVEN . SUNDAY OUTFIT

Mais uma roupa de fim-de-semana terminada mesmo a tempo de ser usada este domingo e partilhada no último dia do Kids Clothes Week.
Desta vez fiz uns calções em veludo cotelê Liberty com suspensórios a condizer. Iguais para as duas, claro!

One more outfit finished just in time to be worn this Sunday and shared on the last day of Kids Clothes Week.
This time I made pair of shorts with matching suspenders in this gorgeous Liberty corduroy for each of my daughters. I love to dress them machy-machy on weekends!

 

O molde dos calções foi desenhado por mim usando como base o molde do forro dos Bubble Shorts by DoGuincho. São uns calções bastante básicos e fáceis de fazer mas o franzido lateral dá- lhes um cair giro e torna-os mais largos e confortáveis. Sem dúvida, este é um modelo a repetir!

The shorts’ pattern is self draft and was based on the one I made for the Bubble Shorts by DoGuincho lining shorts. These shorts are actually pretty basic and easy sew but the side gathering gives them a nice touch and makes them a bit wider and super comfortable. Undoubtedly, this is a pattern I will sew with many, many times!

Para os suspensórios pensei usar um molde do livro “Intemporels pour Enfants” mas, quando o fui procurar, percebi que a página de moldes onde ele estava tinha desaparecido! Acabei por desenhar eu mesma o molde. As miúdas acharam imensa graça aos suspensórios mas a Inês perguntou-me: “E agora como é que eu vou à casa de banho?!”

For the suspenders I thought about using a pattern of the book "Intemporels pour Enfants" but, when I picked up the book, I noticed that the page where this pattern was had disappeared! So, still not believing that I had lost a pattern page from one of my favorite books, I ended up drawing a basic suspenders pattern myself. The girls found the suspenders super funny but Ines asked me: "Now how do I go to the bathroom?"

Quando conheci a Sanae e o seu blog fiquei de imediato rendida ao seu estilo "clean"! Grande parte das roupas que faz para a sua filha são baseadas em moldes de livros japoneses (de longe os meus preferidos!) e os tecidos que escolhe são sempre incriveis e inexperados. When I met Sanae and her blog I was immediately surrendered to her minimalist and clean style! Large part of the clothing she makes for her daughter is based on Japanese sewing books (by far my favorite sewing books ever!) and she always picks incredible and unexpected fabrics to work with. Like me, Magda is Portuguese and she sews for her daughter (and for her too) lots of stylish and unique clothes. Mas falemos de assuntos mais agradáveis. Hoje tenho por aqui a Constança do blog Saídos da Concha e a Janice do blog So-cal Sewing Mum.

Well, but let's talk about pleasant things instead. Today I have the pleasure to introduce you Constanca from Saidos da Concha and Janice from So-cal Sewing Mum.

 

 

Creio que a Constança não precisa de apresentação… O seu blog, sempre cheio de ideias giras, produções lindíssimas e textos cuidados, é uma referência entre as crafters portuguesas. Em grande parte devo o meu blog e o meu gosto pela costura à Constança. Foi ao ver as coisas que ela fazia que fui buscar a máquina da minha avó e comecei a costurar. E tenho a certeza que não devo ter ser a única… Como não tem (ainda) filhas os seus calções foram feitos para a sua sobrinha. Fiquei cheia de inveja do tecido e adorei, como sempre, a produção! Although she lives in New Zealand, Constanca is one of the most know and respected Portuguese crafters / bloggers... Her blog, always full of great ideas, gorgeous photos (her styling is absolutely impeccable) and words that you fell like reading though, is a reference among Portuguese crafters. I think I largely owe my blog and my love of sewing to Constanca! As I saw all the incredible things she made I went to my grandmothers’ home, picked her old sewing machine and started sewing for my daughters. And I'm sure I wasn’t the only one... As Constanca only has a son, she decided to make a pair of bubble shorts for her niece. The fabric she picked is lovely and, although I am not a flowers fan, I absolutely love the styling of her photos. Check out more photos at Saidos da Concha.

 

Conheci a Janice através da sua loja The Fabric Stash quando ganhei um vale de compras como prémio na série Flip This Pattern. Adorei os seus tecidos e a simpatia do atendimento, por isso achei que seria giro enviar-lhe uma cópia dos bubble shorts. Tinha a certeza que a Janice iria escolher um tecido fantástico… Mas nunca pensei que ira fazer uma t-shirt giríssima a condizer… Os seus bubble shorts são forrados com o tecido da t-shirt, o que os torna ainda mais confortáveis. I met Janice through her lovely store, The Fabric Stash, when I won Flip This Pattern Series last June. She was one of the sponsors and I was lucky enough to get some really beautiful fabric from her store as a prize. (By the way, I didn’t have the courage to cut it yet…) Since I loved her fabrics and her friendliness, I figured it would be fun to send her a copy of the Bubble Shorts Pattern. I was sure Janice would pick a gorgeous fabric to sew her shorts... But I never thought she would also be making a matching tee... A Bubble Shorts by DoGuincho Pattern tour já vai no quinto dia! Hoje tenho o prazer de apresentar duas criadoras incríveis: a Marte do blog Compagnie M. e a Venus do blog Suburbia Soup.

Admiro e identifico-me imenso com o trabalho da Marte! Adoro as suas criações e a forma natural e simples como as apresenta. Desde que "falámos" pela primeira vez, no final da Primavera passada, nunca mais deixámos de trocar e-mails com ideias e projectos...
Entretanto a Marte publicou no seu blog uma série de moldes gratis (estão todos aqui) e no dia 1 de Outubro vai finalmente lançar a sua primeira pattern. Chama-se Mara e inclui uma camisa e um vestido. Girrissimos, claro!

I am a big admirer of Marte's creations and I identify myself with her simple but special style! I love all the clothes she makes and the natural way she blogs about them. Since we "spoke" for the first time, last spring, we have kept on exchanging emails with ideas and projects ...
In the meantime Marte has published on her blog several awesome free patterns (check them out here) and she will be finally launching next week her first commercial pattern: Mara dress and blouse. The pattern includes a shirt and a dress, both gorgeous, of course!

Creio que o blog da Venus foi um dos primeiros em que tropeçei quando começei nestas andanças da costura... Fiquei logo agarrada pelas roupas divertidas que faz, pelo incrivel "styling" das suas fotografias e pela sua amorosa filha. I think Venus' blog was one of the first stumbled when I started sewing... And I was immediately caught by the fun clothes she makes, the amazing styling on her photos and her adorable daughter. So, when I started organizing this tour, I decided to send Venus one copy of the Bubble Shorts Pattern for her to try... I was so pleased when she replied to my e-mail saying that yes, she would sew a bubble shorts for her daughter!

Conheci o blog da Maria quando fui juri da série Flip This Pattern e adorei a túnica que fez para a sua filha. As suas criações são simples e práticas mas divertidas. Adoro passar pelo seu blog e ver as roupas novas que costura para a sua filha!
Fiquei contentissima em ver que os seus bubble shorts feitos com bombazine caiem lindamente e estou desejosa de, também eu, fazer uma versão de inverno no mesmo tecido para as minhas filhas.

I saw Maria's blog for the first time when I was a jury at Flip This Pattern series and loved this tunic she made for her daughter. Her creations are simple and practical but fun. Its always a joy to visit her blog and check out the new clothes she is sewing.
When I got the pictures from her bubble shorts, I was so happy to see that they were made ​​with corduroy! And I was even happier to see that they fitted beautifully with this kind of fabric as I was also willing to make a corduroy version for my daughters this winter. Although Ana Sofia's blog, S is for Sewing, is only written in English, she is Portuguese and lives right next door. If you like incredible fabrics and children dressed in classic style but fun and practical clothes then you have to check out her blog. Começa hoje a “Bubble Shorts by DoGuincho Pattern Tour”!

It’s day one on the "Bubble Shorts by DoGuincho Pattern Tour"! I’m so excited!

 

Para quem não esteja habituado a estas coisas, uma “Pattern Tour” é uma forma de divulgar um molde em que se pede a várias blogers para o experimentar e, depois, dar a sua opinião escrevendo um post sobre ele no seu blog.

Assim, até ao final do mês de Setembro, poderão ver Bubble Shorts feitos em todo o mundo por gente com estilos e gostos diferentes. As publicações vão ser feitas às segundas, quartas e sextas e os blogs estarão agrupados em pares para ser mais divertido.
Mas, para começar quebrando logo as regras, no primeiro dia apenas vou apresentar a Emily e a Ashley do blog FrancesSuzane.
Porquê? Porque sem elas este molde não existiria…
Passo a explicar! A Emily e a Ashley não só me desafiaram a fazer este molde como me ajudaram em todos (todos mesmos) os passos para a sua concretização. Perdi a conta aos mails que fomos trocando ao longo do mês de Agosto! Muito, muito obrigada às duas!

Depois um pouco da história dos calções…

Este verão resolvi fazer uns bubble shorts para as minhas filhas (estão aqui) porque elas adoram qualquer peça de roupa que tenha o efeito “bolha”, mas passam a vida a saltar, correr e brincar e precisam de roupa gira mas fácil de usar.
Depois, com o incentivo da Emily e da Ashley (Frances Suzanne), surgiu a ideia de fazer um molde para vender…
Estes calções, com o seu corte largo e elástico na cintura, são práticos e confortáveis. São perfeitos para os dias quentes de verão mas também para os dias mais frios de inverno, vestidos com umas meias-calças coloridas.

Then a bit of the shorts’ history… This summer I decided to make a pair of bubble shorts for my daughters (here they are) mostly because they love any garment that has the “bubble effect”, but also because they are always jumping, running and playing, so they need cute but easy to use clothes.Then, with the encouragement of Emily and Ashley (FrancesSuzanne), came the idea of making a commercial pattern I could sell...These shorts have a loose fit with simple elastic waistband and are perfect for summer time as well as for cooler winter days made up in warmer fabrics and paired with some sweet tights.

O molde Bubble Shorts By DoGuincho é um molde digital, em format PDF, que inclui:

BUBBLE SHORTS BY DOGUINCHO . AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Hoje tenho uma novidade! Uma grande novidade!
Vou lançar o meu primeiro molde de costura!

Today I have news! Great news!
I am launching my first commercial pattern!

 

 Já tinha vontade de começar a desenhar moldes de costura há muito tempo mas nunca tinha dado o decisivo passo em frente. Foi preciso um desafio (e depois muito ajuda…) da Emily e da Ashley (blog FrancesSuzanne) para finalmente me pôr a trabalhar.

A BUBBLE SHORTS PATTERN by DoGuincho (por enquanto apenas disponível em formato PDF e em inglês), inclui o molde propriamente dito para os tamanhos 2 a 8 anos e as instruções para a execução dos calções, acompanhadas de desenhos explicativos.
Vários eventos estão programados para celebrar esta novidade. O primeiro começa já hoje! Quem quer ganhar um molde quentinho acabado de sair do forno? E fácil, basta participar neste sorteio! O resultado será dado a 4 de Setembro, dia do lançamento do molde.
E, já agora, espreitem o blog SeeKateSew e a sua Ruffles Series, porque a Emily e a Ashley já transformaram o molde original nuns calções giríssimos!

I’ve been thinking about designing sewing patterns for quite some time but I had never had the courage to give that decisive step forward. But, this summer, Emily and Ashley from Frances Suzanne challenged me to do it. I don´t know if I will ever be able to thank them enough, not only for the challenge itself but also for their fabulous help.  
The BUBBLE SHORTS PATTERN by DoGuincho (for now only available in PDF format), includes the pattern itself, sizes 2-8 years, and its instructions with step-by-step diagrams.
Several events are planned to celebrate this big release. The first one starts today! Who wants to win a warm, fresh from the oven, pattern? It's easy, just join this giveaway! The result will be announced on September 4, the day I will be releasing the pattern.

PS. My Facebook page is a personal page (I didn't know there was a difference between commercial and personal pages... I am kind of slow with Facebook...) so there have been some questions about the way you could "like" it and be part of the giveaway.
