PATTERN: The Cappuccino Dress and Tunic by Liesl and Co. I felt in love with this pattern when I saw the dresses my friend Ines made for her and her sister. They looked perfect! So, when Maria from the Spanish online shop Telaria contacted us offering a super generous voucher to spend on her shop this pattern was my first pick. The design is quite simple but has some nice details and the fitting is amazing. Plus this is such a comfortable and wearable tunic but I find it also quite stylish.
FABRIC:
Black with some very tinny grey dots light weight cotton (I am afraid this
fabric might not be 100% cotton, but I am not sure) from one of my local stores
(I am not sure if it is from Feira dos Tecidos or Park dos Tecidos…) This is
actually not a very good quality fabric but I do love the print and, since I
didn’t want to ruin one of the fabrics I got in Paris, I decided to make a wearable
muslin with this one. I only had enough fabric for the tunic but I hope to make
the dress very soon.
(my Iphone got crazy on this photo, the fabric has already some wrinkles, but I liked the way the fabric was drapping so much, I had to show you...)
I must say
I am in love with my new tunic and I can’t wait to sew the same pattern with
one of the Atelier Brunette fabrics I got in Paris. As usually, Leisl
instructions are spotless and I absolutely love the fitting, especially the collar.
I picked size 2, according to my chest measurements but, though I don’t plan to
sew a size up next time, I think I might make the side seams just a little bit narrower
on the chest area to make it ever so slightly looser…
(The tunic is the perfect match for my new Liberty of London Bensimon sneakers...)
Thank you
so much Maria for the pattern. I can’t wait to go back to your shop! And, my
lovely readers, do check out Telaria on-line shop as I am sure you will love it.
There you will find gorgeous fabric and notions and amazing patterns, magazines
and books,… (Plus Maria is one of the nicest persons I have ever meet!)
Looks great on you! The fabric print almost looks like a texture, lovely!
