UM BELO PRESENTE . A GREAT GIFT

Um passeio matinal pela praia com uma amiga que também mora aqui ao pé…
Apesar da neblina estava calor.
No final do passeio até apetecia tomar um banho.

No fim-de-semana recebi um belo presente: cinco camisas que o marido de uma amiga já não usava. São todas de lojas boas com algodão fantástico e super macio.
Quando peguei na máquina de costura pela primeira vez, em setembro, foi precisamente para transformar uma camisa do meu cunhado num vestido para a Teresa.
Vi a ideia na revista Martha Stewart Living mas acabei por inventar eu o modelo baseado num que vi na Marie Claire Ideés. Depois comecei a ver blogs cheios de ideias para transformações de roupa e encontrei todo um novo mundo!
Para quem queira começar a explorar, pode ver os vestidos amorosos que o que a Dana fez para a filha com as camisas do marido. Também achei imensa graça a esta saia camisa. Um dia tento fazer uma para mim!
Agora vou ter que pegar em todas essas ideias e reciclar estas camisas para se tornarem o guarda-roupa de verão das minhas filhas. Algumas são assumidamente masculinas e terei mesmo que usar a imaginação para fazer com que fiquem ao gosto da Teresa que é pirosa-pirosa.

Já agora, esqueci-me de avisar na semana passada que há mais coisas novas na loja.

A morning walk along the beach with a friend who also lives near Guincho ...
Despite some mist, it was hot for this time of the year.

When I finished my walk I even felt like taking going for a swim.

This weekend I received a great gift: five shirts that a friend’s husband of no longer wore. They are all from good shops, with fantastic and super soft cotton.
When I started sewing, back in September, it was precisely to make a dress for Teresa from a shirt that my sister gave me.

I saw the idea in Martha Stewart Living, but I ended up creating a model based on what I saw in Marie Claire Idees. Then I began to see blogs full of ideas for recycling clothes and found a whole new world!

For those who want to explore, you can see the lovely dresses that Dana did for her daughter with her ​​husband's shirts. I also found this creasy skirt shirt. One day I’ll try to make one for me!
Now I have to collect all these ideas and recycle the shirts to become a summer wardrobe of my daughters. In some of them the fabric really is a “man shirt’s fabric” and I will have to use all my imagination to please Teresa´s taste for pink and girly things.

By the way, I forgot to tell you last week that there are new things in the store.

SEXTA FEIRA . FRIDAY

Só consegui passar pelo Guincho mesmo ao final da tarde.
Mesmo com umas nuvenzitas estava fantástico.
Mas parece que para o fim-de-semana vai ficar e pior e até chover…
Na escola da Teresa e da Inês, sexta-feira é dia de ir a biblioteca e escolher um livro para trazer para casa e ler no fim-de-semana.
Umas vezes gosto mais, outras menos, do livro que a Teresa trás para casa mas gosto muito mesmo desta ideia da escola.

Uns tempos atrás descobri um blog americano chamado ProjectRun and Play que divulga as criações de “costureiras caseiras”. Essencialmente são projetos de roupa para criança. Tem sempre ideias bem giras e uma série de concursos com graça.
Hoje vi que tinham um "link party" aberto a todos e resolvi participar com os meus vestidos trapézio com riscas em viés. Espero que também gostem do outro lado do atlântico…

Já agora há dois novos modelos na loja.

I could only manage to pass by Guincho late in the afternoon, today.
Even with some small clouds it was fantastic.
But it seems that this weekend it will get worse and even rain ...

In Teresa and Ines’s school, Friday is the day to go the library and choose a book to bring home and read during the weekend. Sometimes I like the book Teresa picks, some I don´t, but I do like this idea.

Some months ago I discovered a blog that shows the creations of "home sewers". It is called Project Run and Play. The projects are mainly children's clothing and it always has good ideas and neat contests.
Today I saw they had a "link party" open to all and decided to participate with my A-line dresses with bias stripes. I hope that, on the other side of the Atlantic, they like it...

ESCOLHER BOTÕES . SELECT BUTTONS

O dia de hoje era de ondas pequenas e a praia estava cheia de miúdos surfistas. A teresa continua doente por isso a fotografia foi tirada em dois minutos com a Inês a espera no carro.

Já há novas roupas na loja. Espero que gostem! Para estas jardineiras já só falta escolher os botões. Estarão na loja amanhã ou depois. Inspirei-me neste modelo vintage e fiz o molde eu mesma. Até agora foi a peça de roupa que mais gozo me deu fazer!

Today the waves were small and the beach was full of kids with their surfing boards. Teresa is still sick so the picture was, once again, taken in two minutes with Inês waiting inside the car.

There are some new clothes in the store. Check it out! For these overalls,  I only have to choose the buttons. It will be in store tomorrow or the day after. I got inspired by this vintage model and made the pattern myself. So far it was the garment that gave me more pleasure to do!

MIÚDAS EM CASA . GIRLS AT HOME

Está um dia de sol lindo. Só sol, sem vento.
Fantástico para um passeio matinal na praia. Mas a Teresa está em casa doente. Nem deu para sair do carro…

Em casa, trabalhar é complicado!
Estamos agora a ver a Rapunzel pela enésima vez…
Mas o pior foi tentar encher um puf com uma menina de quatro anos à minha volta. Bolinhas por todo o lado! Acabamos por ter que aspirar toda a sala, o que foi quase tão divertido como rebolar no meio de milhares de bolas de esferovite…

It's a beautiful sunny day. Only sunshine, no wind.
Great for a morning walk on the beach. But Teresa is home sick so I had to be fast and I couldn’t even leave the car ...

At home, it is quite difficult to work!
We are now watching Rapunzel on TV for the umpteenth time ...
But the worst experience of the day was trying to fill a puff with a girl of four years around me. Small balls everywhere! We ended up having to vacuum the whole room, which was almost as fun as rolling around in the middle of thousands of balls of styrofoam ...

VESTIDO VIÉS . BIAS DRESS

Hoje de manhã estava vento leste. É vento de sol, frio e boas ondas.

À tarde rodou para norte e já se viam vários kites e algumas velas na água.

Finalmente consegui convencer as miúdas a vestir uns vestidos. Foi logo de manhã e por isso têm cabelo e caras de quem acabou de acordar.

This morning the wind was east. That means: sun, chilly temperatures and good waves.

In the afternoon it turned north and it was already possible to see many kites and some sails in the water.

I finally managed to convince the girls to wear the dresses I made. It was early in the morning and they have “just woke up” hair and faces.

PRIMEIRO VESTIDO . FIRST DRESS

Hoje comecei finalmente a fotografar o meu trabalho.
Estava um dia frio e ventoso mas cheio de sol. Não foi fácil manter as roupas no sítio, mesmo abrigadas pelas dunas.
Mas mais complicado está a ser fotografar as miúdas com os vestidos. Não estão a querer cooperar. Acho que amanhã as vou subornar com uns chupa-chupas…

Aqui ficam as fotografias do vestido de alças cruzadas.
Está disponível para 18-24 meses, 4-5 anos e 6-7 anos. Pode ser feito para outras idades por encomenda numa série de cores diferentes (cor de rosa, azul, amarelo,…)

I finally started shooting my work.
Today it was cold and windy but there was also plenty of sunshine. It was not easy to keep the clothes in place, even sheltered by the sand dunes.
But the hardest part has been  shooting  the girls with the dresses. They are not willing to cooperate. I think tomorrow I'm going to bribe them with some lollipops ...

Hoje esteve nublado de manhã, fez sol à hora de almoço e choveu e trovejou a tarde.
Clima atlântico…
Esta obsessão pelo tempo vem dos meus dias de windsurfista fanática!
Agora já não penso tanto no assunto, mas o windguru continua a ser o primeiro site que visito quando entro na net.

Today it was cloudy in the morning, sunny at lunch time and in the afternoon there was rain and a thunderstorm.
Atlantic climate ...
This obsession with the weather comes from my days as a windsurfer addict!
Today I no longer think as much about it as I did before, but windguru still is the first site I visit when I enter the net.

Hoje está um pouco nublado mas as ondas não estão nada mal.

Ontem fiz a minha primeira compra no Etsy.
Comprei um molde de costura antigo para fazer uma saia-calção.
Sempre gostei deste modelo.
É muito prático para as miúdas que querem andar de saias mas gostam de subir as árvores, como a minha filha Teresa.
Os moldes de costura antigos são fantásticos! Só pelos desenhos nas capas já apetece comprar.
Estou muito curiosa em vê-lo ao vivo mas ainda vou ter que esperar...

Today is a little cloudy but the waves are not bad.

Yesterday I made my first purchase on Etsy.
I bought a vintage sewing pattern to make a scooter skirt.
I always liked this model.
It is great for girls who want to wear skirts but love to climb trees, as my daughter Teresa.
The vintage patterns are fabulous! I would like to have them all just to look at the drawings on their covers.
I'm curious to see it live but I will have to wait...

PRIMEIRO DIA

Hoje é o primeiro dia!

O ponto de partida do blog começou por ser a praia do guincho.
Passo por lá todos os dias.
Às vezes até desvio caminho só para ver como está.
E está sempre diferente.
A ideia era fotografa-la diariamente e publicar essas fotografias.

Esta ideia mantém-se.
Vou apenas juntar outras...

Today is the first day!

Guincho beach in Lisbon was the starting point for this blog.
I step by every day.
Sometimes I even detour my way just to see how it is.
And it is always different.
The idea was to shoot it daily and publish those photos.
This idea still stands. But I’ll be adding some more…
